sofiane fegghouli and defender Carl madjani have been dropped .



West Ham midfielder, defender Carl madjani and Sofiane Feghouli have been dropped as new Algeria coach Georges Leekens open his 23-man squad for the Africa Cup of Nations on Sunday.

Feghouli  scored 11 goals in 42 appearances for Algeria including one goal in the 2014 World Cup in Brazil which advanced his country  to the last 16.

Feghouli  27-year-old, a reported target by French club Marseille, however played a peripheral role for West Ham since  he came to England last summer.

Medjani, 31 year old , who has 54 caps and plays in Spain for Leganes, was absent for the first time since the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

Leekens’ forward line includes islam slimani winners of the English premier league title with Leicester and  strikers Riyad Mahrez and  Dinamo Zagreb’s Hillal El Arabi Soudani, the highest scorer in Cup qualifiers with seven goals in six matches.

The Africa Cup of Nations which took place t in Gabon from January 14 to February 5 with Algeria — the 1990 winners — in a tough group alongside zimbabwe,Tunisia,and Senegal.
