the Delta State nurse for, Hospitals Management Board have suspended a week old strike that the started by nurses in public hospitals allover the state.
The nurses embarked on strike over none adequate manpower and non-payment of promotion money owned which has not yet been paid.
It was said that the nurses stop the strike on Friday, December 30, 2016 following the coming in between of the state government pushing them to bringing back to the discussion table.
The Public Relations Officer,Mr ojebo Donald the Delta State Ministry of Health, also confirmed the remains in place as if hanging of the strike in a statement problem on Tuesday, noting that nurses have coming back to their duty posts.
Mr Ojebo said in his statement, “The strike action that was embarked earlie from midnight of 23rd of December, 2016 by all nurses working in the Delta State Hospitals Management Board has been called cancelled.
“Dr mrs minnie oseji The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health, confirmed resuming of work by the nurses during her visit, yesterday, Monday, January 2, 2017 to the General Hospital, Okwe, Oshimili South Local Government Area and Central Hospital, Agbor, Ika South Local Government Area where the nurses were seen going to their normal duties.
“She said that government would keep on exploring all avenues to make sure peaceful co-existence in the government hospitals and implored them to work with government to get the effective delivery of health services to patients.”
