N23bn diezan bribe: INEC set up panel on EFCC report.





The Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) has mapped out a panel that will open the cases of the 100 people, who were mentioned by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission(EFCC) in connection with alleged bad things that has been committed in the year 2015 general elections.

People that were  affected  were mentioned by the EFCC, whose operatives investigated them for allegedly receiving bribe of 23bn , which was said to have been make work easier to do by the former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs.Diezani Alison-Madueke, ahead of the 2015 elections.

According to Punch the said, INEC had collected the report of the EFCC thin bar of metal used by a doctor to feel for a short and the electoral body (INEC) has given assurance that if   found  receiving  bribe would be suspended in accordance with the provisions of the INEC’s conditions of service.

 Investigations on Friday disclosed that the Chairman of INEC, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, who received the EFCC’s report, quickly started work on it by setting up an internal panel to review the cases of all the people involved for according to disciplinary action, .

It was understand that the panel who's national commissioner was headed, the people that was identity was not bring out, to examine the cases of all those listed for sanction in the EFCC’s report.

 the  commission top official said that the panel started sitting on the report on Tuesday. 

According to the  source he said, “The EFCC just send the report on the indicted personnel to the commission last week. 

“he further said that he don’t think the details of that report are available now but what I can tell you is that the commission is working on the report. 

“he said that, the chairman has involved a high-powered committee to commence quick  work on the report sent by the EFCC.

 “ on tuesday The panel, led by one of the national commissioners, commenced sitting on the report .


 INEC had taken a bold step to subject the over 100 mentioned officials to the conditions of service of the commission ensuring that they go on suspension.


The report of  EFCC sent details of the outcome of investigations in five geopolitical zones. 

 those that affected was the former Resident Electoral Commissioner in Rivers State during the 2015 elections,name Gesila Khan.

The recovered Two houses and two plazas from Mrs khan, while her accounts had been frozen. 

Mrs Khan allegedly collect  N185.8m ahead of the March 28 and April 11, 2015 elections. 


The EFCC had also apprehended, the INEC electoral officer in Isoko South Local Government Area in Delta State during the elections, name fidelis Omoile.
