Suspected Four robbers have died during a bullet exchange with operatives of the Kaduna State Police Command, Channels TV reveal.
according to the state’s Commissioner of Police, Mr Agyole Abeh he said that the incident happened on Monday afternoon.
According to Mr Agyole Abeh further said that the shootout took place around Jere area in Kagarko Local Government Area of the state in northwest Nigeria.
Mr Agyole Abeh said the suspects were on their way to a robbery operation before the police interrupted them.
Mr Agyole Abeh further stated that courage was made following intelligence information that the suspected robbers were on their way for an operation.
The Police Commission(Mr Agyole Abeh) also open up that operatives of the command arrested a dismissed police officer who has been terrorising residents of the state capital in the name of the command.
Mr Agyole Abeh added that members of another robbery gang, who specialise in car snatching and shop stealing, were also arrested by his men in different parts of the state.
He said The Items recovered from the suspects include Toyota Camry vehicle, a stolen police uniform 10 AK 47 rifles, live ammunition, and stolen clothes and jewelleries.
Mr Agyole Abeh further state to assured the residents of water-tight security across the state ahead of the planned diversion of the Abuja bound passengers to the Kaduna International Airport which had been scheduled to take effect from March 8.
One of the amrobber , that has been dismissed from the police since 2015 for alleged involvement in some criminal acts,also confessed to the crime.
He told the reporters that he had been pretending to be a police officer in order to earn a living
